🎄 Christmas Eve how-to

How do you catch Santa on camera?

Quick answer

There are three ways to catch Santa on camera: stage it yourself with a phone or indoor camera (and someone in a Santa suit), use a Santa app that adds Santa to a photo or video of your room, or get a done-for-you video. With HoHo Cam! you send one photo of your living room and your child's first name, and get a security-cam style video of Santa leaving gifts and saying the name, within 48 hours, for $19.

Option 1: stage it yourself

  1. Put a phone or indoor camera up high in a corner, facing the tree.
  2. Test it the night before in the same low light. Check storage, battery and the timestamp.
  3. After bedtime, have an adult in a Santa suit walk in from the side, place gifts, and leave. Keep it short and keep the face away from the camera.
  4. Keep cords out of walkways and never leave candles burning.

Option 2: use a Santa app

Photo apps add Santa stickers to a picture of your room; video apps add short Santa scenes. You do the setup and check the result. Compare them in Santa caught on camera apps.

Option 3: a done-for-you video (HoHo Cam!)

  1. When your tree is up, take one photo of the room from up high in a corner, with nobody in it (photo tips).
  2. Order and add your child's first name. Orders open November 2026; join the waitlist now.
  3. Within 48 hours, you get a ~15-second night-vision security-cam video of Santa in your room, saying the name. Order by December 21 for delivery by December 23.
  4. On Christmas morning: “The camera was on all night… want to see if it caught anything?”

Questions parents ask

Can you really catch Santa on camera?

Santa footage is always made: staged with a camera, made with an app, or made with AI like HoHo Cam!. It's part of the Christmas story, not proof.

Where should the camera go to catch Santa?

Up high in a corner, facing the tree, like a real indoor security camera. For HoHo Cam!, take your room photo from that spot.

Do I need a security camera for HoHo Cam!?

No. You only need one photo of your room. HoHo Cam! doesn't connect to any camera.

When should I order for Christmas?

Orders open November 2026. Order by December 21 for delivery by December 23; videos arrive within 48 hours.

How much does it cost?

$19 for one video or $39 for a pack of 4 videos (one per child, up to 4 children). One-time payment.
